Study Guide for Chapter 1!

Here is you first Study Guide!  This is for Chapter 1 and will help you for Friday's Chapter 1 Spanish quiz! (Directions will be in English on the test, so don't worry :)  ).

  • Scan your study guide here.  Students can complete it on a separate sheet of paper using the copy straight from the blog or they can print the scanned file you posted and complete it that way.  Students posts comment for help or discussion regarding this Study Guide in the comments to the post.

Spanish Alphabet!

Today in class we learned the Spanish Alphabet!  This is an easy and fun lesson that you can come back to as much as you need as you learn the Spanish language!  The alphabet is covered on page 1 of the text book.

Below is a class video for you to review the Spanish alphabet.  Remember to say it aloud!  :)

Homework:

1.)  Review your Spanish Alphabet!
2.)  Memorize the entire Alphabet with correct pronunciation by the end of the week.  :)
(Memorizing the cue song in the video is optional, but you can do that too; whatever works for your Spanish learning!)
3.)  Have fun!  Remember to practice aloud.

Spanish Introductions

Today in class we covered the basics of introducing yourself, asking another their name, and asking and responding to questions concerning how we and others are doing.

This is the beginning of chapter one section one and you can find this information on pages 1-12 in the text book.

Below you will also find a video lesson of this topic for review if you missed the class or just prefer to watch the video than read the text, it is up to you.   :)

Homework:

1.)  Complete activities 1-3 on pages 1-2 in your text book.
2.)  Review the Spanish alphabet from yesterday's lesson.
3.)  Remember to practice aloud!  Spanish is a skill of three parts: writing, reading, and speaking.  I want to hear all of your wonderful accents  :)

  • Here, a teacher can provide a scanned copy of the pages assigned for homework to ensure all students have access.  This is good for students who don't have a book or forgot their book.  This can be done via docstoc or similar methods.
  • Teacher can encourage students to discuss homework and the subject/topics in general in the comments for the post.  The teacher can also respond to student questions in the comments to the post.  Of course this will be more difficult with questions regarding pronunciation, however, those can always be taken care of in class the following day, and since the teacher is already aware of such questions from a students or group of students, said teacher can address those first thing in class.
  • In other words, the teacher will already be aware of what difficulties the students had with the lesson at home or the homework and can address those first thing or work the next day's lesson to include corrections to students' errors and assistance to their struggles.
